In 6th grade I did a research project on Andrew Higgins.
2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?
It means to look up info. on something and then organize your thoughts.
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?

The Mayan Empire
2. Why you chose it:
It is a very interesting and important topic in history and we have not really studied it in depth in scool, so I wanted to take this opportunity to study it on my own.
3. What you already know about your topic:I don't know really anything other than that they were a very prosperous indian empire from CentralAmerica. That is the main reason that I'm doing this project on them. Teacher Response March 16

1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
It made me actually think and research some interesting questions. After reading over all of my skinny questions it was easy to realize that my fat question should be, what was the overall lifestyle of an Ancient Mayan? 1. What have I learned today?
I learned a lot about the mayan lifestyle and found answers to over half my skinny questions.
2. What problems have I had?
I didn't like the Noodle Bib notes.
3. How will I overcome the problem(s)?
I used Net Snippets.
4. What will I do next?

1. What have I learned today?
I learned the time period and peaks of the Mayan Civilization. I also learned important daily things about them like their religious life and the roles of different people.
2. What problems have I had?
I had trouble finding some info to make my bibliographies and when I used the library catalog I would go downstairs only to find that the books I wanted were already upstairs.
3. How will I overcome the problem(s)?
I looked harder and found the info and I went back upstairs and found the books in the pile.
4. What will I do next?
I will look through the books and take notes on them.

One of my classmates had the book I wanted.

I used another book until hers was available.
